School, College and University Trips to Cambodia

CambodiaPhnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia and is also the largest city in Cambodia. Phnom Penh is a global and domestic tourist destination which is in south-central Cambodia and is a great place to visit if you are planning a school, college or university trip.

Phnom Penh has a good climate; it is hot all year round. June to October is the rainy season in Phnom Penh and it is hottest from February until May.

The main tourist attractions in Phnom Penh are:

  • The National Museum, which is the leading historical and archaeological museum in the country and has the world’s largest collection of Khmer art.
  • The Royal Palace, this is the home of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It has been lived in by the Kings of Cambodia since it was built in 1866.
  • Wat Phnom is a temple which is built on an artificial hill. The Wat Phnom contains the remains of King Ponhea Yat, who was king from 1405 to 1476 and his family.
  • The Silver Pagoda is a Buddhist temple; it is the official temple of the King of Cambodia.
  • The Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monument is a monument to the former alliance between Vietnam and Cambodia.
  • The Independence Monument was built to mark Cambodia’s independence from France.
  • The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum was a high school which was turned in to a prison. It is now a museum dedicated to the people who were tortured in the prison and has displays of torture devices and photos of the people who were in the prison.

Other attractions in Phnom Penh include art exhibitions at Art Galleries such as the Reyum Gallery, the theatre, shows and the circus. There are also sports facilities where you can play Golf, Football and Rugby.

Phnom Penh also has a lively and vibrant nightlife with many great nightspots filled with restaurants and bars. The good night spots include the riverfront, street 278, street 104, street 174 and street 51.
